Mix together and set aside:
2 c sifted cake flour 1 tsp b. powder
1 tsp b. soda 3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 c sugar
Stir 1/2 c (room temperature) butter, to soften. Sift in dry ingredients.
Add and mix:
1/2 c minus 2 tbsp butter milk or sour milk
1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs, unbeaten
1 c fully ripe mashed banana
Beat 3 minutes, low speed mixer.
Spoon batter into 2 8-9" round pans to make layer cake.
Bake at 375 F, 25 minutes or until done. (9x13" dish takes longer to bake)
