The first picture above is me, ready to play bass drum at the Cambridge Highland Games with the Brantford Pipes and Drums, I think 2009, receiving this comment:
JB: You did just great that day you know...maybe it is your calling
The second picture: March 11, 2011 · Any Bethunes remember this day? The first time I ever picked up a set of pipes was a week and a half before. That was seven years ago, already! Time flies when you're having this much fun!!! For those that weren't there, I played a reasonable facsimile of Amazing Grace for a party of about 70 people. No drones and the reed was probably paper thin! But it turned out well, nonetheless!
The third picture is the summer of 2017, my Mom and I drove to Chatham area for a summer Bible camp Highland Games. I was the only piper and very well-received! :D

SH: Any chance of a sneak listen on facebook?
ME: What a great idea, Sue. C'mon Donna. This would be great advertising, you could hang out your shingle and give lessons.
me: I can't even find time to practice and certainly not teaching level. But thank you both!
me: Will consider it. Indoor pipes are super loud! Sometime for an outdoor service would be far better!
SH: Super loud is great! Music to the ears!!!
WM: Hope it's not a funeral. Miss hearing you play, Donna Hodgson Kovacs ;)
me: Aw, I miss you and I miss London. This was a Highland games at a Bible camp. A very fun occasion !!!!
WM: Times like this I wish I had my car, so I could go & see the games & hear you play ;)
me: I was the only piper, very tiny group, I only played two songs, this was my only games since 2009 or 2010, if I remember right. I'll have to take you gaming sometime!!!
WM: Yes, please do. I would love to meet a nice Scotsman ;)
Sometimes the simplest social media posts can bring out the best responses! I had no idea I had a fan club! Sharing this from between some friends who followed up a fb post:
