Just like being able to routinely find car keys, it helps to have some sort of system in place, like a key rack!
Most of us know that Christmas falls on a specific date. Do we know where to find the Christmas story in the New Testament? How about in the Old Testament?
We have just celebrated Passover and the Resurrection. Do we know where to find those stories?
This is me being sooooo non-judgemental. This is me, devising some helpful plans for myself and sharing, just in case it helps anyone else. Because I'm willing to admit that for some things, I need help. LOL I would also love to hear how others remember such things! Especially if you have to work at it.
But what about today? What are we studying today? We can follow immediately after the Resurrection story in our Bibles. That's not a bad idea. Do we know how to find this information? We could consider that this is the fourth month of the year, and study the fourth Book of the Bible or the fourth chapter of multiple Books, or the 104th chapter of Psalms! We could search out something or everything that the Bible has to say about Spring/planting - or Fall/harvest if we live in the Southern Hemisphere. Maybe something about new beginnings and second chances. If we want something a little more random, do we know who the fourth king of Israel was? or the fourth son of Israel/Jacob? I could be a little obsessed and suggest the fourth stone in the foundation of Heaven. :) (by the way, it's emerald!)
Maybe now, it's sometimes easier to rely on our Bible App to help us find the Scripture references we want, but sometimes, it really isn't. Sometimes the Scripture references don't seem so important, maybe, but other times, have we ever wished we could find that little something, just a little easier?
The Bible is a treasure chest, in the form of a book or an app, waiting to be discovered!
Yes, despite having this on a t-shirt that I love to wear, I still had to look it up! I'm still a work in progress.
"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12, NIV
Every day that God gives us is a new day! We should try to discover something new about Him from His Word, every day! :D
By the way, did anyone else watch the Chosen, season two, episode one last night or the night before? Did anyone else enjoy watching the envisioning of John 1:1 coming together? Maybe, even though I am wonderfully familiar with this particular passage, I will forever associate it with the Resurrection, because of this episode. :) Did you find something that you had never realized or considered before? Did you find something that made you want to dig in to the Scriptures to check it out, verify it, or learn more about it? Do you know how the Story ends?
Are you good at remembering where to find something in the Bible? Do you have any tips or tricks that you find helpful?
