How is it possible that we continue to use people's past against them? Where someone comes from, what their family has done, or worse yet, using someone's culture or heritage against them. I love the goodness of culture, heritage, history, family stories, and people. :) We can have engaging discussions but then I am so surprised when people seem to be ashamed of their background. :( All of this cancel culture seems to be making it even worse! It seems to push an agenda of destroying our past. Almost every culture has stories of misery that need to be remembered to prevent history from repeating itself. We have all overcome something! People from basically all over the world have survived the Great Depression of the '30s, war, illness, and more. We are not responsible for things that happened before we were born, things that are beyond our control! If we want a better future for generations, we need to start living in peace with one another. We need to love one another, encourage each other, celebrate the rich and unique differences (like pizza, tacos, cabbage rolls, chow mein, and haggis!), and acknowledge each other's burdens and pain. If survival was a sport, we'd all be on the same team.
Together, let's embrace a brighter future! Blessed are the peacemakers! Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world! And He doesn't stop loving them when they become adults!
