"In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name." (Psalm 33:21, NIV, NLT)
I'm just having one of those days when I can't praise God enough. There's nothing really truly spectacular happening today, other than "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24, KJV), which actually makes every.single.day spectacular.
Perhaps you're looking for a different message today, but I think, every once in a while, we just simply need to marvel at God's goodness and creativity. I was thinking today how I've met people who don't like to use the word, "awesome" for anyone or anything other than God. I respect their reverence, I think it's very admirable, but I was also thinking today how the words "amazing" and "awesome" are words that God has given us in the gift of language and how they may also be appropriate for His works, which includes that sunrise or sunset, or that person who needs some encouragement for something that they have done, or even that they are trying to do, and so much more! It is, after all, God who sets the sun in the sky and God who gives us our intelligence, abilities, talents, resources, and inspirations. I could be wrong, but I think these words have human purposes and functions that are not inappropriate. These words may have meaning on a human level, and a very heightened meaning when describing The Lord.
What is it today that you are especially awestruck by or amazed by, that God has allowed for you? Can it ever really be narrowed down to just one thing?
