"How can I help you" might be some of the most comforting words we can ever express. We can't change all the circumstances in our lives, but we can certainly offer to do what we can while extending to each individual the opportunity to consider their immediate needs
It's rare for anyone to have nothing. For those who do, I am truly sorry! If there is help available, please seek it! There is no shame in doing so.
This woman recognized that she at least had something - and God multiplied it for her. No matter how much or how little we have, God can use it in miraculous ways, if we allow Him to. Yes, God could have restored her husband, as He has done with others. We don't understand all of God's ways of doing things. That's some of what separates faith from knowledge.
Learning to distinguish our abundance from our scarcity is beneficial, too. A small jar of olive oil doesn't sound like abundance, but in God's hands, it's her faith that something good might come from it that becomes her blessing.
