Just because we don't know someone doesn't make them unimportant. Every soul matters to God. Likewise, most children will always matter to their mothers, regardless of age or circumstances:
"Rizpah daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it out for herself on a rock. From the beginning of the harvest till the rain poured down from the heavens on the bodies, she did not let the birds touch them by day or the wild animals by night." (2 Samuel 21:10, NIV)
Nothing can quench a mother's love for her children.
I love this! How much does God truly love us? I've been told that John 1:1 was mistranslated and can't truly mean that Jesus is God. I've also come to realize that the entire Bible points to redemption through Jesus! The message is unmistakable! God loves us this much, as even seen in 2 Samuel 22:10, "He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet."
What has God done for us? Yes, He parted the heavens and came down! His "love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me..."
