Have you ever experienced those household mishaps? Broken furnace, leaky pipes, flooding, storm damage, even a power outage, or maybe complete loss due to fire, etc. We’ve lived a bumpy life, full of blessings and full of uncertainty. Through many of them, I can’t help but think of our Savior, Who has the entire universe at His command, and yet He spoke of having no earthly place to rest His head. I am amazed by His glory and domain, yet humbled by the stark contrast of His humility while He was here on Earth. May I never take anything for granted.
I also can’t help but think of those who have less than us. True, not everyone in the world needs a furnace, but to have no where safe to sleep at night? No where to bathe? How many in the world don’t even have clean drinking water available? I can’t fix the whole world’s problems on my own but I do what I can. I know many others who do great work, too. I am so thankful for all who do anything to help make the world a better place. Blessings to all of you.
Thank You, Lord God, for all the blessings that you bestow upon us. Thank You, Jesus, for surrendering Your comfort and life to save us. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for the gift of compassion, for us and for others. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
