"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10, KJV)
"Jesus says to them, “My food is that I may do the will of Him who sent Me, and may finish His work;" (John 4:34, LSV)
I woke up with a song in my heart that my son plays often, though I didn't know the title, nor the performers. Since he was still sleeping, I web-searched some of the lyrics until I found it: Rest, by the Grey Havens. I found this little inner serenade to be especially refreshing with all that's going on. I'm thankful to be back to driving my school bus, but I was really hoping to be back in church, this coming weekend. Hopefully next weekend will be better. I was dealing with some other disappointments as well, last night, when I went to bed; nearly overwhelming, and yet, I slept the best that I have in a while. Waking up, thinking of this song was a beautiful reminder of how no matter what this world throws at us, God is worthy of praise, every.single.day and that He is still at work here, "until the work is done." When I go to bed at night (and when I rise, and all times in between!), He is trustworthy and He is my Peace. "The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17, NHEB) Why do we get these occasional dark clouds? So we can remember how Bright and Beautiful the Son is. Why are the nights so long? So we can develop a desire for the Light. What if we start to feel like we no longer have hope? There's always Hope, He is Eternal and Unfailing. Any other thought is false and must be dismissed. If you need help, please seek help! You are loved and you are important, and that will NEVER change.
