The pandemic is not over, but restrictions are changing for some; some more and some less. Locally, some of us can finally go back to church, beginning next week. For me, this is super exciting news, and I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way. But we're not in the clear yet. We still have some nasty viruses circulating throughout our nations. We have people who are living in heightened fear or poverty, or both. We have people who are not taking any of this seriously and prolonging this pandemic with their careless behaviour. We have possibly the greatest number of people now, around the world, living with uncertainty. Out of integrity and compassion, we do not take advantage of people who are struggling, but this situation has created a greater workload for those of us who seek to do the work of the Lord.
"So he instructed them, "The harvest is vast, but the workers are few. So ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers out into his harvest." (Luke 10:2, ISV)
Never before have we had so many searching for hope. If Christ is our Lord. He is our Hope.
"but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you." (1 Peter 3:15, CSB)
What can we do? Check in! Check in with everybody we possibly can - are they ok? Is there anything we can do for them? Can we pray for them? Can we pray with them? Do they know that we still care? If God will not leave us nor forsake us, then with His help, we can be available for all who need. We can't do everything, we must remember, "Let's not get tired of doing what is good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest—if we do not give up" (Galatians 6:9, ISV) What we can't do, we must call on the Lord and allow Him to do the work through the Spirit or through others. Between you, me, they and the Lord, we have lots of work to do. Are we ready? May you be blessed as you are a blessing to others. <3
